Impact: This is the first energy drink that has really helped reduce/remove cramp from the tail end of a 3-4 hour Sunday bike ride. I lose a lot of fluid when exercising and even bananas have not helped in the past (maybe due to slower absorption. Similarly during really intense RPM/spinning session I would get cramps during the fast “racing” tracks, but no more.
Mix: The powder dissolves well, I tend to use a small amount hot water from the kettle in the bottle, then fill up with ice cold water from the 'fridge. I have used this technique with other powders without 100% success, but High 5 Energy Source Xtreme completely dissolves every time, no clogging into lumps.
Taste: This is the only reason for not giving 5 stars. I have used the Citrus flavour (the only one in the shop when I buy) and it is a little strong, although I have never had any discomfort as a result. I have used the Tropical flavour from High 5 in other energy drinks over the years and this was far more pleasant.
Summary: If you suffer from cramps: try High 5 Energy Source Xtreme. I have definitely seen the benefit, not suffering from cramp allows you to perform better and recover faster.
